Botswana Federation of the Disabled (BOFOD) facilitates Organisation Development and management interventions with a view to improving the performance, effectiveness and sustainability of DPOs in Botswana.
As a learning organisation, BOFOD seeks to promote partnership, networking and information sharing between member organisations and with strategic partners and like minded organisations.
Botswana Federation of the Disabled (BOFOD) seeks to give due attention to influencing policy and practice with a view to primarily promoting disability policy development, implementation and monitoring.
The commemoration of the day is held on the 23rd of November every year under different themes in partnership with the following organizations;

BOFOD is planning to host a fundraising dinner in March, next year, which will bring together different companies, partners and other stakeholders.

The Hon Speaker of the National Assembly Ms G. Kokorwe was officially launched as the Patron of BOFOD at event that took in place in Gaborone. She promised to help BOFOD move forward as the umbrella organisation of DPOs in Botswana.
On 9th June 2017, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Botswana Federation of the Disabled as part of JICA’s networking efforts with various potential partners that they they could collaborate with in the project for the Promotion of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Disability Mainstreaming
